This Arenal Volcano Tour and Tabacon Hot Springs is a great mix of relaxation and culture. The tour starts by going to the folkloric town of Sarchi, where you will be able to see the biggest oxcart in the world at its Central Park; Sarchi is known as the artisans’ town of Costa Rica, where the majority of the typical oxcarts are built. The tour also includes going to one of the Sarchi’s Oxcart Factories, where you will learn how this rustic vehicles are built...
The tour continues by driving to the mountains of San Ramon, passing plantations, forests and cattle farms until you reach the Town of La Fortuna, located at the base of the impressive Arenal Volcano. At La Fortuna you will have a delicious Costa Rican lunch, and then will proceed to visit the volcano’s look-out point, where you will get the best views of this mountain on clear days.
Then, the best part of the tour comes after the visit to the look-out point, when you go to Tabacon Hot Springs. Tabacon is the most luxurious hot springs location of Costa Rica, where you will be able to relax at the multiple pools and waterfalls that are surrounded by the most beautiful tropical gardens, as well as the Rainforest of Costa Rica. After spending most of the afternoon at the hot springs, dinner will be served at one of the Tabacon’s fine restaurants, a great way to finish your day in the Arenal Volcano area.
